We Implemented Whistleblower Protection for Enterprises Employing a Total of Approximately 3,000 Workers

Whistleblower protection has become a reality. We have developed whistleblowing procedures for both small businesses with around 50 employees and large corporations employing approximately 2,000 people. Each operates in a different industry—IT, manufacturing, automotive, transportation, and construction.

We tailored the selection of reporting channels to the size of the enterprise and the nature of the work performed by employees. For white-collar employees working with IT equipment, we recommended electronic reporting channels, while for manufacturing workers, we suggested in-person meetings or written submissions.

We consulted the regulations with employee representatives, taking into account workers’ concerns regarding a transparent process for handling reports. The key issues proved to be ensuring the confidentiality of whistleblowers’ identities and guaranteeing the impartiality of those responsible for reviewing reports. To achieve this, we trained designated personnel and HR departments.

In addition to the internal reporting procedure, we prepared authorizations for receiving reports and conducting follow-up actions, templates for internal whistleblowing registers, confirmations of report receipt, and notifications to whistleblowers regarding the outcome of the employer’s follow-up measures. We complemented the entire process with provisions ensuring compliance with GDPR.
